The United States administration has decided to send our troops to help destroy weapons of mass destruction under Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. This project discusses the impact, perception, and outcomes of U.S. involvement in the Iraq War. Initially there was a lot of controversy and questions about why we were involved, why did we attack Iraq and what were our true intentions in taking these actions? Did we go there for the right reasons or did the US have some hidden agenda in instigating chaos in the Middle East? People in the Middle East often have mixed emotions about what they think of our country. They think we are a nation that likes to snoop around and be involved in everything. They assume that because we are rich and have more power and resources than most countries, we are unstoppable. In many countries in the Middle East there are terrorist organizations that resent the United States so much that they are constantly devising ways to take revenge on us. September 11th is obviously the result of this mentality. Events: 1. Iraq invades Kuwait 1990 – Iraq invades Kuwait, resulting in what becomes known as the first Gulf War. A massive U.S.-led military campaign forces Iraq to withdraw in February 1991. However, the invasion stopped short of removing Saddam Hussein from power. June 1993 – US forces launch a cruise mission…… middle of paper.. ....the new strategy, not its leader. If we do not see that the structure of the system is changing, from military might to global bullying, then we will be doomed to fail in the eyes of the world. We must reexamine and question how we see ourselves globally, otherwise we will continue to create solutions. decisions based on inappropriate mental models. The rules are changing and we must change with them.
