Applied PharmacologyQuestion 1One of the roles of the Therapeutic Goods Administration is the classification of medicines based on the risks associated with their intake by patients. The supply of medicines is also regulated as part of manufacturing and quality processes (Department of Health and Aging 2011). The regulatory agency also ensures that medicines deemed suitable for supply are re-checked for compliance with health and safety standards and therefore cannot be approved if proven unsafe for human use (Department of Health and Aging 2011) . Funding processes are also influenced by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (Department of Health and Aging 2011). The committee ensures that industrial sponsors of pharmaceutical products, medical bodies and all associated sponsors of new or already operational medicines. Question 2One of the issues currently impacting the continued viability of the pharmaceutical benefits program is that there is greater expansion of the pharmaceutical industry and this has caused the development of new sponsors (Department of Health and Aging 2011). Through its regulatory procedures, the agency has managed to put citizens' lives before any other issue and this has caused the agency to be regarded as one of the most viable, stating that citizens' lives would never be put at risk (Ghosha, Skinnera & Ferguson 2006). Question 3This would involve organizing and identifying problems to be solved through drug policy (World Health Organization 2002). The situation in question should be analyzed by all interested parties to define the areas of weakness and strength and then define the means to set the goals and objectives.
