There are many social benefits that can be gained from the Sougha programme. The reduction of unemployment, the empowerment of women and the very important role of preserving the indigenous heritage of the Emirates are just examples of Sougha's social impact. The program recognizes that a large Emirati population possesses enormous entrepreneurial potential but is largely unable to obtain employment. Thanks to the Sougha program, such individuals are able to access assistance, both material and otherwise, which enables them to consequently improve their entrepreneurial skills and, in effect, seize market opportunities (Sougha.com, 2012). As a result, the social impact of poverty caused by unemployment is largely moderated. The program is very clear and supports not only artisans, but also craftswomen. This is a clear message that, as part of the growth of entrepreneurship, the Sougha program realizes the social responsibility it is charged with in achieving gender equality. Therefore, recognizing that women also have inherent talents that could be seen as potential models of entrepreneurship goes a long way towards realizing the need to awaken the general social perspective regarding the role of women. Sougha.com (2012), claims that the program aims to preserve the indigenous heritage of the Emirates by promoting economic livelihood including among artisans and women. The interrelationship between culture and economy represents a unique opportunity for remote artisans to effectively chronicle the cultural progress of the Emirates and still earn some money.
