One of the most difficult doctrines for the human mind to understand is that of God's unmerited grace extended to all humanity. While no man is worthy of God's grace because of sin, He chooses to extend this free gift simply because it pleases Him (Metzger, 2002). Ephesians 2:8 clearly defines grace as a free gift that cannot be earned, Jesus earned it on the cross and therefore it is all sufficient for our salvation. Another dynamic of God's free gift is faith, it is through faith that we are born into the grace that allows us to boast of His glory (Romans 5:2), not of our works. One thing is certain: the theme of salvation, like God, remains the same throughout the Bible. Abram (Abraham) was justified by faith simply because he believed in the Lord (Genesis 15:6) which ascribed it to his righteousness. King David, in Psalm 32, describes God's grace and justification being with him whose transgressions were forgiven and whose sins were covered, blessed is the man for whom the Lord regards no injustice. Noah was also saved through faith and the grace of God (Genesis 6:8)....
