For more than a century, the demand or desire for a Kurdish state has somehow divided the Kurdish people and their neighbors in terms of their opinion towards a Kurdish state independent. The Kurds are perhaps one of the largest ethnic groups in the world who do not have their own country. They are the largest minorities in Iraq, Iran, Türkiye and Syria (Murray p.31). It was a challenge due to the radical ideologies of neighboring countries towards an independent Kurdish state as they always interpreted that step as a threat to repeat the scenario for the Kurds in their own country. It is usually difficult to express yourself as Kurdish when people ask you about your place of origin. A Turk, an Egyptian or an American can be recognized almost easily because they mention the name of their country. “Kurdistan” was a term to express optimism about the possible country the Kurds could have. It is commonly considered a utopian state where all Kurds live together and have their own rights despite their differences. The autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan has raised the question of whether it is the right time to declare an independent state of Southern Kurdistan, in the hope that the other parties will join later. Some may argue that the time is not yet right due to the many economic, geographic and political difficulties. On the other hand, some say that the Kurds are facing their most powerful era in terms of aspects needed to found a country. One side rejects the current declaration of independence in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Some argue that the current Kurdish economic power is not adequate to support a country alone, due to possible economic sanctions surrounding countries mix... middle of paper... euphoria with the Kurds day after day which indicates a better chance of Turkey approving a Kurdish state.
