The cultural relativist would disagree that we can have global ethics because not everyone may share the same values; instead they tolerate each other. The challenge of cultural relativism is that different cultures have different moral codes and it seems key to understanding morality. There are no universal moral truths, they say, only the customs of different societies exist. “The cultural relativist may think that there is no universal truth in ethics; there are only the various cultural codes and nothing more. Cultural relativism challenges those who deny the objectification and university of moral truth. Cultural relativists believe that values are culturally dependent: in other words, that values such as moral values are just the customs and norms of a particular society. A key argument often given in support of the cultural relativist argument is the difference argument, established by J. L. Mackie (1977). Despite these challenges, I still believe we can agree that all human beings have basic needs and to get them there are laws that can be established that everyone can agree on
