As a victim of the one-child policy, I am well aware that the one-child policy is not only a violation of human rights, but also has long-term negative consequences. China has become an aging society and faces many challenges in providing care to its aging population. My life experience has made me highly motivated to improve my skills in advocating for social change and social justice as a social work professional in China, armed with a PhD. in Social Work from the University of Chicago. . I am eager to continue developing my analytical and research skills by obtaining substantial methodological training to fully prepare myself for a lifelong fight to ensure the aging population receives adequate care. My main interest is evaluating the sustainability and effectiveness of social care, housing and health care policies in order to promote better long-term care options for older people. I also wish to become an educator to inspire more people to engage in the mission of social work and to equip them with knowledge of social work to support the social cause.
