According to the online article from www.huffingtonpost.com titled “Going to College at 63: 'You're Never Too Old to Live Your Dream'” Mrs. Claus is not too old to complete her degree. In this article a woman tells the story of the hardships she has endured throughout her life that were a major result of her not being able to finish high school or attend college at the age she should have. The woman states in the article that, and I paraphrase “you are never too old to go back to school as long as you have breath in your body”. In class we watched a documentary called Over 90 and loved it and about twenty people aged between 90 and over 100 were interviewed. There was a woman who was over 90 years old and still working. She was able to drive a car and go to work alone and function like someone 60 years her junior. Another woman in the documentary also returned to college to earn her degree. Another article on the site www.backtolearn.com talks about a 70-year-old woman who returned to college to earn her degree and graduated at the top of her class with a 3.95 GPA. Also in the previous article it was mentioned in this paragraph about the 63 year old woman's return to school; she also was on the dean's list every semester until graduation. According to the website www.backtolearn.com, they stated that according to the National Student Clearinghouse; Thirty-eight percent of students enrolled between fall 2009 and 2011 were over 25 years old. I stated all these things to bring out why I believe Mrs. Claus is not too old to complete her degree. He has the mind to do it, he should try. I cannot know why a person in their final years of life would...... middle of paper ...... ww.caregiver.org; some problems that could arise for Sam could be the frustration that emerges in trying to change an uncontrollable situation. An article on www.helpguide.org states that problems can be emotional. Having to watch memories fade and functional abilities deteriorate can take an emotional toll on the caregiver, given that the person being cared for is a loved one. In my opinion, care can be stressful because some patients require 24 hours of care. This could consume the caregiver's entire life, preventing them from making time for themselves or their family. I believe there must be a balance and cost accounting when doing this work. A caregiver should carefully map out how they would engage in their role as a caregiver and how they will still be able to function outside of this role in their personal life..
