Historical EventsTo establish a PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING, a sequence of events occurs in history to open a door to the “Society of Education and Scholasticism”, such as the description of Goals of Public Education for our educational system was born from the ideas of two famous men, Horace Mann and Thomas Jefferson. Mann believed that “people were created and brought into life with a set of innate, organic dispositions or propensities (Mann 1969, p. 125) and Thomas Jefferson gave the idea of an assigned nature in which he believed that the function of school it was for selected and superior people with gifts of virtue and wisdom. He also thought that education could improve a person's gifts, but believed that it did not provide educational opportunities because it creates skills or talents (Jefferson (1944) 430-431). These ideas gave a realization of what is associated with our education today about equality of educational opportunities in today's school system and a remedy for socioeconomic inequality to include education for the poor as well as the rich.
