Integrated Family Services are wonderful and, indeed, empower parents, but as John Maxwell wrote in his book, The Law of the Lid, “Personal success without the ability to leadership brings only limited effective results." How do you get this leadership skill? They have to be trained! Not only do they have to be trained, but they have to be trained by a professional. To acquire the necessary skills, they need help. This help comes through l 'learning and must learn by learning. Lessons designed to be specifically geared towards preparing for marriage, improving marriage, raising children, etc., are effective when they meet the current needs of the class participants only effective when parents can truly engage in these specific trainings I can tell you from experience that struggling with 2 children while preaching a service while my husband played background music on the keyboard was not effective at all. What do I remember about those services? The looks burn in my head suddenly. Children must be looked after. It was at this point that I decided I couldn't get involved in worship ministry with my kids running around at 2 and 3 years old. Their attention span is not great enough, no matter how much discipline! I decided to open the nursery and watch the children and this opened up other mothers to engage in this ministry. The cooperation opened communion between other church mothers. There must be a point where age separation becomes a necessary part of the church, especially if there is plenty of it
