Originally I would never read a book like this unless it was part of the summer job. However, this book has sparked an interest in me to find and read more books like Tipping Point. Reading this book was very rewarding as it opened up a new horizon of thinking and how the world works. When the author talked about the Law of the Few it made me think about what category I was in if I were a connector, an expert or a salesman or maybe a mix. Because Gladwell had done such extensive research for this book, I learned many new stories, such as how Sesame Street was created and how a community of women was able to be educated about breast cancer. Also the idea was in the middle of a crisis and there are more people around and no one asks for help, because they assume that the neighbor has called or will call, but when they are alone they ask themselves the problem. That's why in a crisis it's important to make eye contact or some sort of contact with another individual to call emergency services or find help. Gladwell's theory on the power of context was very easily identifiable with the idea that once we have adapted to a certain atmosphere we are very likely to change to adapt to that atmosphere. I can relate a theory like this to my life.
