We've all had anxiety throughout our lives, and we can all agree that it's not the best feeling in the world. Anxiety causes us to live in constant fear of worries about what may or may not happen. However, the results may not always be the desired ones. Most people who suffer from anxiety seek treatments or medications to deal with their anxiety. Living in constant fear of everything holds a person back from all the opportunities offered to them because of skepticism, and because of skepticism it makes them worry, which leads back to fear, which causes anxiety. The anxiety goes on forever, it's the feeling of an endless tunnel. So what types of medications or forms of therapy can help manage anxiety? Anxiety is one of the worst feelings because it makes a person worry about a certain situation and keeps them worried for hours, days, and maybe even a few months afterward. There are several types of anxiety disorders including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and many other disorders. In an article “10 relaxation techniques that eliminate stress quickly” written by Jeannette Moninger introduces techniques that help reduce anxiety. Moninger explains that we don't need a retreat, but there is a technique that can calm us down in less than 15 minutes. Many may turn to meditation as a technique to relieve anxiety. “Research suggests that daily meditation can alter the brain's neural pathways, making you more resistant to stress” (Moninger) which is great because it's simple and easy to do, can help relieve some tension, and can even make us feel more at peace having just a few minutes a day to meditate, which can help us get through our day. Another technique that Moninger suggests is... in the center of the card... I have to say it's my favorite because I immediately feel at peace when I take 3 deep inhales and exhales. Taking drugs is my worst enemy. I hate taking them, but if it was the last resort to solve the problem I would go ahead and take them, obviously I have to pay attention to the dose so as not to become dependent on the drug. Out of all three medications, systematic desensitization, and biofeedback, I would choose systematic desensitization as the best natural way to help condition anxiety. If there is a case where a person can no longer tolerate the anxiety problem, I highly recommend the person to go to a doctor to get a prescription to reduce the problem, however it is important to understand the dosage that is recommended to be taken because it is likely that if we take the recommended dosage we may become addicted to it, which is worse.
