“The day the power of love prevails over the love of power, the world will know peace.” (Gandhi, Mahatma) These were the great words of our best leader known to carry peace with him wherever he goes. Peace is known to welcome people with a good feeling towards themselves and provide people with a calm and relaxing society. Peace can be analyzed and understood in different ways so that everyone can overcome evil through peace. Even before peace is achieved, Enlightenment comes and this requires dedication. Recognizing that everything is important and useless at the same time, this will help you approach and realize the truth about the world differently than others. After being enlightened and filled with peaceful thoughts, a person is liberated and that feeling is worth everything. Freedom is priceless and is definitely something worth working for, but it requires knowing everything. Inner peace is achieved when you free yourself from your chains. Peace is defined in various ways and can be approached in a unique way. Different people have different opinions on achieving peace and it is usually about a specific goal. Once they achieve that sensational goal/desire, they feel calm and resolute. The definition of peace is 'freedom from disturbance', this is what the characters seek but don't know how to find it. “Sampath felt his breathing slow and a wave of peace and contentment washed over him.” (Desai, 50) Sampath was struck by a completely new feeling that guided him towards peace and happiness. Sampath pays no attention to what is happening around him and seems unambitious. Though later Sampath gets knocked out of self-confidence and runs away from something he can count on to end up in... middle of paper....... Life is something to enjoy the way you feel like it , even if that means climbing a tree and staying there and turning into a guava or imagining everything as food. “Kulfi didn't think of the baby in her belly as a little fish. He was thinking about the fish themselves. Of fish in many forms. Of fish big and good enough to feed the hunger that had overwhelmed her like a wave in recent months. He thought of fish curries and fish skewers. Kulfi mistreats the child, Kulfi's hallucination about food has completely changed her view of love and freedom. At that moment the only thing Kulfi thought about was her craving for food, even the important things in her life became food. Desai tries to imply that your loved ones are special and that you shouldn't consider them anything more than family. The key to enlightenment is finding your way to freedom.
