The United States is a country with a two-party structure, which is a political system in which people largely give their votes to only two major parties, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party ; in which one or the other party can obtain a majority in government. While Republicans and Democrats have many similarities, they tend to be overshadowed by individual party ideas. With so many primary differences between the two parties, finding issues or problems that citizens agree on can be difficult. However, not all people are Republicans or Democrats. Because of the similarities and differences within parties, voters can fall into either political party. Republicans tend to be more conservative, religious and looking for a better economy. Democrats are more liberal and desire a greater good in terms of well-being for the people. Republicans and Democrats have strong beliefs on some issues such as immigration. Republicans want border security to be the main focus and top priority for the first proceeding, while Democrats want to help immigrants in the process of becoming legal immigrants if their standards meet the requirements to proceed first. Over the years, Republicans and Democrats have continued to push for immigration legislation; however, political parties have different views on the implementation of the bill. Republicans and Democrats want to help immigration together, but at different times. Democrats debate cruel immigration guidelines that have torn families apart and led to the deportation of honest, hard-working immigrants. President Barack Obama has made executive agreements wary of legal changes to temporarily protect immigrants who don't meet criminal record requirements and who have mandatory paperwork... middle of paper... priority in immigration enforcement. The Democratic Party agreed with President Obama's executive decision on immigration. There has been a long history of presidents, both Democrats and Republicans, taking the executive actions necessary to improve our immigration structure. All US presidents, up to current President Barack Obama, have taken action to address immigration issues. As a result, many more immigrants came to the United States of America, stayed, and contributed to the strength of the United States. The confusion is over which order to go first, border security, or helping immigration in the process of becoming a legal immigrant if their standards meet the qualifications. Not all Republicans and Democrats agree with the other members of their assembly, the majority is mostly conflicted for both parties.
