Human nature is that quality that distinguishes us from other living beings; it is the definition of who we are. The concept of human nature in international relations is incorporated into theories of international relations. Each international relations theory has its own specific assumptions about human nature. The basic premise of these theories is rooted in human nature because in understanding the world and how it works, human nature is considered first. Philosophers argue that for a political theory to have weight, it must first explain the concept of human nature. And personally, I think this is one of the main reasons why new IR theories keep emerging: it's extremely difficult to explain. all of human nature within a single theory and just when one theory seems to have been right, another theory emerges with a different aspect of human nature. And while there is some truth to each theory's view of human nature, there are also some inaccuracies, and the only way to fully understand human nature is to look at it through all these different lenses....
