When the animals overthrew the men, whose government had long oppressed them, they finally broke the chains of perpetual slavery. They no longer had to toil in atrocious conditions solely for the benefit of cruel and greedy men, but for the benefit of themselves. They have achieved the freedom they desperately aspired to. The times of abuse and mistreatment came to an end. In these new, hope-inspiring conditions, the animals prepared to establish the farm where there would be no injustice and suffering, but would be the place where everyone would be equal and happy. They knew that creating such a farm would be extremely difficult, however the thought of giving up never crossed their minds. Gradually, step by step, they began to overcome all obstacles and difficulties on their way to prosperity. These difficulties clearly demonstrated that pigs were best suited for a leadership position. Indeed, the pigs were very intelligent, it was they who guided the animals and gave effective advice in breeding. Without a doubt, if it were not for them, the animals would have starved to death as they were unable to solve the problems associated with plowing and harvesting. Under their rule the farm was flourishing, there were no quarrels or arguments, every animal was happy and content with its life. Unfortunately, it did not last long: the society that was supposed to be fair and where everyone is equal turned into a tyrannical society, where everyone lived under strong oppression and in total poverty. There are many reasons why this transformation occurred. This article will show the main reasons for this. As mentioned above, in the beginning the farm was a favorable place for a tyrannical society. Another factor contributing to this process, which has not yet been mentioned in this article, is that animals capable of seeing errors in the actions of leaders did not express their opinions publicly when given the opportunity. They didn't want to interfere in the farm's affairs because they thought their actions would make no sense. Another reason for their indifferent behavior toward farm affairs may be that they were simply disinterested in gaining power and leading the farm in which they would be engaged if they stated their positions publicly. That's why those animals decided to stay on the sidelines without trying to prevent the injustices that were taking place. All these factors favored the emergence of tyranny in the society that purported to be just. Works Cited Animal Farm by George Orwell
