I suppose since I became a Christian (born again July 31, 1975), I have heard many different opinions regarding different areas and events of the Bible. Of all the topics and points of interest, none intrigued me as much as the death, burial, and resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As you read this study there is one main point that all Christians will agree on. It may not be the day of the week or the time of day that Jesus died, but we will all agree that Jesus rose from the dead and is currently at the right hand of God the Father. You may be a religious person, but not believe that Jesus rose from the dead. That belief would not deny you being religious, but it would deny the profession of being a Christian. If a person believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that God raised Jesus from the dead, he will be saved. (Romans 10:9) With this in mind, I want to walk you through some of the Scriptures regarding the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.Chapter 1One of the hardest things for me to understand (being raised in our Western culture and religious background) are the holy days, holidays and Jewish laws. So it took the Holy Spirit to show me how the pieces of the puzzle fit together. One piece of the puzzle was how Jesus could have been crucified on Friday and resurrected on Sunday and remained in the tomb for three days and nights. All my Sunday School literature since I was a child has always escaped these days. I have examined the literature of several Protestant denominations and they all teach the same days of the Crucifixion and Resurrection. As I prayed and studied, I wondered why no one ever... middle of paper......and the body of Christ left. It was there that the angel from heaven told of his resurrection and said to go and tell the others who were mourning and waiting. It was when Peter and John came to the tomb and saw the grave robes and head covering lying where Jesus lay, that in a short space of time the Holy Spirit revealed to John things concerning current events, that Jesus was alive and was resurrected. forever and believed. John 20:8 (KJV) I truly believe that if you study the scriptures referenced here you will agree that Jesus was crucified on Wednesday afternoon and resurrected on Saturday afternoon. The testimony of the resurrection and the visual body of Jesus has been seen and recorded in each of the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I trust that you can truly believe that the word of God is inerrant, inerrant, inspired, the word of God..
