Greek and Roman mythology arose because people were curious to know the root of their existence: how they came into the world and everything that surrounds them. He was born in a time when there was no scientific progress. The inexplicable world gave reason to fear and behave. They worshiped many gods, creating a polytheistic society. They believed that the Gods controlled natural forces. Roman mythology is a combination of rituals, beliefs and supernatural events. The Romans adopted most of the Greek gods and their tales, and changed only the names. I believe that the gods and goddesses of myths represent human nature: they become jealous, angry and sometimes deceived by greed. They fight over women; they are even involved in infidelity. Once again, they possess supernatural power; the only aspect that separates them from human beings. I think it's also an expression of human beings' desire to have control over each other. Of all the figures in mythology, the character that I consider most relevant to me is Zeus. He is the king of all gods and the father of humans. His actions represent human nature in the most effective way. The first aspect of Zeus' character that catches everyone's attention, I think, is dominance. He established himself as the king of all gods. It didn't come naturally to him. He had to fight with his father, Kronos, and other Titan gods. Cronus, who ruled the world during the Golden Age, also had to kill his father, Uranus. Cronus had an oracle that one of his sons would overthrow him as he had his father. To ensure his reign, he began to swallow his own offspring until Rhea tricked him during the birth of Zeus. When Zeus grew up, together with his other brothers, he defeated the Titmouse...... middle of paper......, resolves their disputes and punishes their misdeeds. The father of the gods, Zeus sees each deity fulfilling their individual duty, punishing their misdeeds, resolving their disputes, and acting towards them on every occasion as their omniscient advisor and powerful friend. As the father of men, he cares for their well-being. He rewards them for truth, sincerity and righteousness. But he does not like perjury, cruelty and dishonesty. Anyone who doesn't follow his rules is punished severely. In my opinion, mythology explains human conditions while the characters of the myth reflect human behavior and personality. It gives us the chance to understand the reasons behind our every emotion, the obstacles we face in life, and the price we end up paying for an exchange. God has the power to control our lives and protect us from every danger.
