Everyone is talking about it and the news is constantly talking about it. But no one ever does anything about it. The “it” is global warming. Global warming has been steadily increasing since the industrial revolution at alarming rates, causing extreme weather conditions including droughts, floods, heat waves and hurricanes to be a major concern. In fact, it increases at a rate of 10% each year (Ferrey 68). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a group of scientists and government representatives from 130 countries who estimate that temperature increases will be 3.2-7.8 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100 (Cunningham 207). There is a way to slow down carbon emissions. The Swedish people produce only 6.5 tons per capita per year of carbon dioxide (CO2) compared to the United States with a CO2 production rate of 20.14 tons per capita per year. Remarkably, Sweden has adopted renewable energy sources and rigorous conservation measures that have reduced its carbon emissions by 40% over the past 30 years, while experiencing dramatic increases in personal income and quality of life (Cunningham 208). global warming, we must introduce highly efficient vehicles, create an abundance of renewable resources and formulate the laws necessary to slow global warming. Each of these solutions will have a dramatic impact in reducing carbon emissions, but it will take more than just the effort of these solutions, we must apply them to keep the earth as healthy as possible. The first solution is the introduction of highly efficient cars that will have better fuel economy and will consume much less fossil fuels because they are the main producers of global warming (Heckeroth 94). There has been a significant development… halfway through the paper… note that these technologies, developing countries will not take part in these options, which are often more expensive to implement. They will decide to burn coal and other fossil fuels instead (Ferrey 19). This would then defeat the purpose of proposing solutions because they would do the opposite of what is intended. In conclusion, there is still much to be done regarding global warming, but change will not come quickly. To minimize the consequences of global warming, these solutions must be adopted immediately to slow global warming. We humans are ultimately responsible for this problem; We must therefore agree in every way to resolve it before the consequences become even worse. If this is followed, the world will transform into a world based primarily on solar energy, free from fossil fuel dependence and environmental damage..
